[ mood | shit's hectic ]

Right on time..
Will you stay through the pouring rain?
Right on time..
Through the night, your laughter is my light.
Right on time..

Heh, my mood kinda says it all. Shit's hectic right now. Seems like a lot is happening at once. I'm still worrying about how I did on my finals, since I probably won't see a report card for two or three weeks. And now I've started my next semester.. have to worry about new classes, and have to start doing homework again. I got switched out of the senior semester period I really liked, and got put into this filthy, filthy 2nd period. That class is incredibly dirty. lol. Ontop of that I'm getting anxious for my answer from U of O-- I got a phone call today, apparently someone there has questions about my application, but both times they called they just missed me, so I'm kinda left going "wtf--", 'cause I really wanna know what's up. I'm still trying to get my Gameboy shit sold and sent off so I can replace my TV and get an intake installed in my car.. and I really wanna know what that clunking sound is my car makes when I make a sharp turn. Grr. Gas costs a lot, and I have no job, so.. I won't be able to keep filling up my tank for long. I gotta get a job, but I have that Japanese student coming for a week pretty soon, so I can't work while they're here.. ontop of all that, I have a fair-sized presentation to give soon in English, and a couple gigantic ones coming up in Senior Seminar in the next few months..

It just feels like everything is converging in on me at once. Heh.

[ mood | hung-the-fuck-over ]

Man, I don't even know where to begin. Last night was a joint birthday party for Craig and Yuji at Craig's place.. it was them, me, Jack, Jeff, Mike, Matt, Adam, and Brenden there.. and damn did we get fucked up. We went and did some cosmic bowling first, then went back to the house and started hitting the shots. It got to the point where we were all stumbling drunk, lol. Craig's older brother and his friend pulled up while we were all standing outside, and we like.. scattered 'cause we thought it was a cop or something. But we just chilled once they got there.. I brought out a bit of the ganj, and somehow Yuji broke this reaaaally nice bong they had there.. there was glass all over the floor, I felt really bad, even though it wasn't me.

Partway through the night I like.. fell down this little cliff they have by their place. I don't know how I got outside, I think I was taking a piss or something, but I was alone.. and all of the sudden I just feel myself tumbling down a hill.. and I don't even really understand what's going on as I'm falling, lol.. I just know I hit the bottom pretty damn hard, I thought today I might have a concussion or something.. but when I got back into the house (I don't even know how I got back), I was completely covered in mud. It washed out of my pants, but I think my nice shirt I was wearing is ruined. :(

I got up today and couldn't find my sweatshirt or my hat. Those are like.. two things I wear daily, and I lost them. Grr. Drove Yuji and Brenden home then got to my place and crashed.. couldn't even hardly move I was so sick, but.. after a nice long nap I'm feeling a bit better.

Mm, that was fun. :D

[ mood | aggravated ]

The last couple days haven't been very good. So, yesterday I was running on about four hours of sleep-- I had a ton of studying I needed to get done for my Japanese and English finals.. but then John's computer components show up from Newegg. So I have to start working on that.. I put it all together with him and it doesn't work. I spend five or six more hours troubleshooting. I swapped out each piece individually, and they all work, so I figure it must be the motherboard, since the motherfucker isn't even POSTing, but it does power on. Anyways, I should have been studying that whole time, but once I start something like that, I can't let go of it until it's finished.. so, anyways, I brought Ricky over today to take a look at it, and we're both pretty sure the mobo's bad, so John's gonna have to RMA that. But.. backtracking a bit.. once I finally gave up on the computer last night, it was about 10:00 PM, and I hadn't got an ounce of studying done.. which was bad, because my two most important finals were the next day.

So I get this bright idea.. let's pull an all-nighter! I drove to Safeway and bought like four of those big Sobe No Fear energy drinks (those things are dank), and started studying-- while watching TV, of course. So, by about 3:00 AM, I finally had my English notes done-- but my most important test, Japanese, still hadn't been touched. But I was so fucking tired.. I figured I'd just take a nap and try to study in the morning or something. So I go downstairs, set my alarm, and fall asleep. And wake up... at 9:30. Which means my Japanese final had been going on for an hour already. Jesus I was pissed. Anyways, I throw on some clothes and speed to school as fast as I possibly can.. I get there just about the time the class is getting out. Fuck. Fuck! Sensei isn't very forgiving about that kinda thing, it's her opinion that it was my mistake, so I should just take a zero-- but as everyone was leaving the classroom, I nabbed a scantron sheet and started blazing through the test as fast as I could. I wasn't even reading half the questions, just marking in random bubbles in some kind of semi-conscious frenzy. I didn't finish by the time I had to start my English final-- so I just let it sit, and went to English. But of course, while I was supposed to be writing my English essays, I kept thinking about that Japanese final.. so I was rushing through my English shit in order to get back there to finish Jap. Thus, my English essays also turned out sucking a big one. I got back to the Jap room with about fifteen minutes to spare, and finished getting raped by that test-- so in short, the 89.3% I had in Japanese, which I was hoping to raise up to an A, I can kiss goodbye.. and the 82% I had in English, which I was hoping to retain.. is probably gonna fall down to a C.

Fuck! That whole ordeal just totally blew.

So, since I signed up to host a Japanese student for two weeks this spring.. Sensei asked me if I would mind just hosting for the ladder week, as she had another student who wanted to host, but could only do it for the first seven days. I said I'd do it, but it secretly kinda pissed me off.. hosting a Japanese student is stressful enough, now I have to worry about living up to the student's first host, lol.

What else, I know something else shitty happened today-- oh yeah, when I was driving Ricky home, I forgot to slow down pulling into 7-11, and bottomed out sooo fucking hard. That was just.. the icing on the cake, as far as these last 48 hours have been.

I think I've kept the movie ticket stub from every movie I've seen in theatres for the last two years. I have 62 stubs, and they're all in the metal case my watch came in. I'm weird.

So, my driving of late has been a bit better. I raised my car as much as the coilovers'd allow (which isn't much at all)-- it's still really low, but managable. I found a junk yard near me with the hose I need, but it's like $25. >< Oh well, gonna pick it up sometime soon.

Hm, what else.. finally got my FAFSA filled out, like 21 days late (not my fault though, actually.. but I won't go into it). So that goes out with tomorrow's mail. Gonna send off my U of O housing application pretty soon too.

Hmm, what else.. nothing, I don't think.

Oh, ho, ho, it's magic!
Y'knowwww.. never believe it's not so!

Something funny is.. I often find myself loading up Winamp when I wanna make a journal entry just so I can have a song to put under "current music". :P Anyone else do that?

So! I've spent a lot of the weekend doin' stuff to my car.. found out that the idle problem was as simple as a gash in the molded hose that goes from the air filter to the throttle body. Went to a wrecking yard to get a replacement-- they had a 1990 240SX, but there was no engine. Lotta good that does me. I looked around at some other Nissans and thought I located the same piece I needed. But I get it back home and realize that it's not the right size. So I gotta go back out wednesday or so and try to find precisely what I do need-- for now, there's some duct tape covering the gash, and even that does wonders. The car sounds infinitely better, and is even easier to drive. While I was at that first yard I also got a replacement for my doorhandle for $5. :D Gotta paint it and look at swapping the lock out before I can install it though. I'm gonna be driving myself to school tomorrow morning for the first time ever. Let's hope I don't crash!

Let me take a minute to say something about porn websites. In particularly, porn websites that require you to buy a subscription. Now, my entire life I've thought that was just a waste of money. I mean, the internet has tons of free porn, so why pay for some? Well, last night I finally caved.. my curiosity got the better of me, and I shelled out $30.99 for a 30-day subscription to some porn site. Well.. it looked really good from the samples and testimonials, but lemme say.. what a jip. I was so disappointed, I cancelled my subscription like thirty minutes later just to make sure they wouldn't re-bill me. That's thirty bones down the drain. :( Oh well, I learned my lesson.

Ahh.. the presentation is over. It actually wasn't bad at all.. waiting to do it was way worse than actually doing it. I just had to remind myself to be casual about it, and it really wasn't a huge thing once I got started. Someone asked me if I had a girlfriend in Japan, and I wish I could have said yes.

Jack was supposed to come over to puff a bit with me tonight, but he bailed. So now I'm alone for the night.

Hmm.. what else. Hit Lv.20 in FFXI..

Workin' on a few things car-related. I bought a really cool metal CD wallet from eBay with the Nissan logo engraved in it.. and I just ordered a new shift boot.. not something I really need, per se, but it couldn't hurt to replace what I'm using now. I also went to Fred Meyer's and bought some Bondo to patch up the rust hole in back temporarily, until I can afford the 180SX Kouki tail-light conversion. Hopefully that'll stop water from coming into the trunk like it has been. I'm gonna take it into a garage pretty soon and just have 'em check out the idle, I'm curious why it's so low. Still looking for a driver's side doorhandle.. and I wanna pick up some white gauge faces when I can. Get things all purdy.

Hmm.. s'all!

School was cancelled Tuesday! And Wednesday! And Thursday! And Friday!

So, hey, I got an extra week of winter break. Not many things can kick as much ass as that. I've been taking full advantage of it doing lots of gorogoro. The coolest thing is, my senior seminar presentation was supposed to be today. So when will I be able to make it up? Who knows, maybe never. :D (That's like, my wildest fantasy right now, but not very likely to happen.)

My TV's broken or something.. so I'm gonna spend the money I had set aside for my car stereo on a new TV. ><; Oh well. Hopefully I can get a job soon and start rakin' in the fetti.

[ mood | psyching up ]

I haven't touched this thing over winter break, which has just flown by. I've had a fun time, though. I hung out with Dave and Matt a few times.. Kenney.. went over to Ave's.. got enough visiting done. My Christmas was pretty good.. but it kinda felt like it was lacking something. I couldn't quite put my finger on what, though. Mm, oh well. Present-wise, my main thing was my car.. the 240SX. I also got some money.. spent some of that on Viewtiful Joe, Final Fantasy XI, and I also got a pipe and a bong. After making those purchases, I deposited the rest into the bank. Speaking of smoking, yesterday morning I took a walk with my dad and told him that I'd been doing it. I expected him to explode on me, but he was pretty cool about it.. he said he kinda assumed I was, and it was okay as long as I did it responisbly. So, that was good.. I'm glad I can talk to him about things.

Final Fantasy XI is really, really fun. My dad even offered to pay for the monthly $13 subscription fee, which is really cool. I dunno if I'll take him up on it, but I appreciate it. I've logged so much time into that game already it's not even funny.. it's just so addicting, and Bobby got it too, so it was fun to play a game with him again, since he's been away at college so much recently. College. Yeah.. I got my application sent off. All filled out, my essay wrote, it's in their hands now. All I can do is cross my fingers and hope for an acceptance letter. If I don't get in, I'm pretty sure I'll be enlisting in the military. That's my 'Plan B' for life. Oh, I got my SAT score back, too-- 1270. Not terribly bad.

Mm, so I'm about to hit the sack.. then when I wake up, I'll do some chores and get ready for school tomorrow. I can't believe I have to go already.. on friday of this week I have to give my 20 minute senior project presentation, which I haven't even started yet. I know I bitch way too much about this kinda thing, but.. public speaking is one of my worst fears. How am I gonna accomplish this? I can barely stumble through 30-second presentations, how am I gonna talk for twenty minutes? I doubt it'll be good, at any rate.. I just hope when the time comes, I have the will to step up and appear in control of myself. I don't know how I'm gonna get to school.. it's been so snowy here, I haven't had the time to practice driving my car, like I had planned to do-- so I don't really have the experience necessary to take it out on my own to school. That should be interesting. I desperately wanna master my car, but damn a stick shift is frustrating. My dad said I had to stop being afraid of the thing, grow some balls, and drive it. I'm just so paranoid about everything while I'm driving it.. oh well, eventually I'll get there. It's all about experience, and right now I have next to none.

This is kinda outta left-field, but.. I've been wondering if I'll end up going to my senior prom. I wonder if I'll get with a girl before I graduate high school. I wonder a lotta things right now.

Trilogy Tuesday rocked! :D Got in line at 10:00 AM, got picked up at 2:00 AM-- lol. So I was standing outside for like four hours.. started talking to this kid in front of me, he was really nice.. his dad even came and bought hot chocolate for me.. but right before we went into the theater, I found out he went to West Linn High School also. He's a sophomore. So that was kinda cool. The first movie started at 2:00 PM.. The Two Towers started at 6:00 PM, I enjoyed that a lot, since I hadn't seen the extended edition before. They added in some good stuff. Finally ROTK hit at 10:00 PM-- it's sooo fucking good. :D Didn't let me down at all, except.. I wish The Scouring of the Shire would have made it in. Really. Ohhh well.. I'm hoping it'll be in the extended edition, but.. deep down, I know it won't be. That's okay.. it's still one of the best movies ever made. ^^ The only thing that sucked, was.. the food. I spent twenty bucks on like.. nachos and popcorn and pop. There wasn't anything real to eat that entire time. But on the way out of the theater, some spokesperson from Newline Cinemas gave us all these collectable film cell frame things. So.. yeah.

Winter break! No school! Naisu!

Quiz time!

SHIFT_ [15 Dec 2003|10:02am]
Wow.. I've just been overwhelmed these last few weeks. I'll start by saying, I finally got a car. It was a Christmas present. I chose a 1989 Nissan 240SX-- it's a 5 speed, and I don't know how to drive a stick yet.. so that's one thing that's still keeping me from driving it. It's hard for me to learn, too.. it has a new racing clutch that was just put in, and it's super touchy. It'll be nice once I become proficient with it, but.. until then, it's just a pain. I wonder how long it'll take me to get this down? Other modifications done to the car by the previous owner include a Blitz catback exhaust, RAYS 18'' gunmetal rims, Kumho Ecsta tires, coilover suspension, Nismo shift knob, Panasonic CD/MP3 deck, Sony CD changer, and Eclipse/Focal speakers. I really do love the car, even though I can't drive it yet-- and I plan to do a lot more to it. One of the first things I need to do is swap the engine out (it has a lot of miles on it) for the more powerful SR20DET. :D Here's a picture, albeit a bad one, of my ride currently--

So, I have to pay for my own insurance starting early February or March or something-- so I'm gonna have to find myself a job. That's kinda.. pressure. So I better learn to drive this thing soon. Ack. A lot of people in my family were really opposed to me getting this car, since they didn't want me to have anything I could actually race-- it pissed some people off, but, oh well. It was a big deal for awhile, but hopefully people have put it behind them now.

So amidst this whole car thing, I'm also trying to get ready for college and all. I got my application for U of O filled out, but I haven't written the essay yet-- I need to get on that soon. I took the SAT's two saturdays ago.. not sure how well I did. Probably average-ish. I also have to go through and apply for a bunch of scholarships and such.. I just feel like so much was piled on me at once.

Not enough time in a day. :|

Also, hey! Trilogy Tuesday is tomorrow. :D Excited for that.. though it means more school I'll miss--

Oookay. J.D. came over this friday and we got drunk as fuck. I've never been that far out before.. I couldn't even walk towards the end of the night. So.. that whole thing is kind of a blur in my mind. It was fun though, I think I'm gonna start drinking more often. lol.

I went over to Ave's saturday morning.. we swung by his aunt's, and chilled there all day. We got a second Thanksgiving dinner, which rocked. Played a little Friends trivia, you know how we do. Later we went back to his house and watched Scarface and Better Luck Tomorrow. Both of those movies are really good, though in obviously different ways. Ave gave me an earring.. and I haven't worn one in like six or seven years, so my piercing had grown through.. but I punched through it, and now I have a $700 diamond on my left ear, lol. I'm gonna get my right ear pierced also pretty soon.. and then maybe my eyebrow at some point.

Came home this afternoon and did a bunch of cleaning around my room and common room, and the bathroom.. got things looking a bit more presentable, but I have a ton of dirty laundry and my blankets smell like beer, and I can't wash them 'cause our dryer is broken. ><;

Anyways, I better go watch TV and study some.. I have to write a couple paragraphs in Japanese, and then memorize like twenty-five kanji for a make-up test tomorrow. Talk about tough.

Yet another day of school missed today. Wow, I've accumulated so many of these already. I actually had a lot of emotions swirling around in me today, but.. I'd rather not discuss it where just anybody can read. And bleh, I don't feel like making a private entry just now. But yeah, it was a bit of a tough way to spend the day.

I gave John twenty bucks and asked him to get me something to drink while he was at the liquor store. He came back with a bottle of gin for me.. it's like 95 proof with 48% alcohol by volume. The stuff smells tastes like nail polish remover. I tried to drink some straight at first, but couldn't stand it.. so I had to start mixing it with Dr. Pepper. It's good like that, though. I like alcohol and all, but this stuff's a tad strong for my tastes. -- Speaking of John, he bought a weight bench and we set it up in the downstairs here. Even though it's not mine, I'll get to use it whenever I want, so that'll be nice. Time to get tight. ^^

I'm gonna be with my mom's side of the family this Thanksgiving.. then on Saturday I'm gonna head over to Ave's and have another Thanksgiving dinner with him. That should be cool. I read him a few lines I wrote real quick, and he really seemed to like 'em, so that was cool-- I hope this whole thing works out.

Time for a couple quizzes. :D

So much work at school. I'm swamped.

Avery and his group are working on getting a mix-tape out there.. they have a local record label they're set to sign with, it's pretty cool. I'm going to be building their website for 'em, and they said I could rap on a couple of their tracks. That'd be a great way to get my name out there and just get my feet wet, so to speak. Aaron also said if I don't wanna rap all my stuff myself, I can just ghostwrite for him.. I'm not sure though, if I'll do that. Keep an eye out for the Killa Fam.

I rented Mario Kart: Double Dash. That game's awesome. I don't know if it lives up to Mario Kart 64 or not.. it's a lot different.. but they're both great. I'll probably buy it eventually.

Hmm, I also need to buy The Two Towers Extended Edition. I can't believe I don't have it yet. >> Yuji keeps making fun of me 'cause of that.. but guess who's going to Trilogy Tuesday?

Crash! Into the rolling morning.
Flash! I'm in the coolest driver's hiiigh...

Well, I killed off my D2 character yesterday. It was deliberate.. I just figured it was taking up too much of my time. Seeing as I went to school two days last week.. I have a ton of homework to catch up on. I feel quite overwhelmed, actually. My midterms came, and they were pretty good.. 3.8 GPA, but I don't feel like I'll be able to hold those grades, seeing as I have so much shit to do right now, and it's really tough for me to do it. The Japanese is especially tough, since I wasn't there for the lessons on what my homework pertains to. And I have a test tomorrow over like thirty kanji, none of which I know. In short, unless I study my ass off tonight (which is never fun), I'm done for.

In other news, I plan to smoke my first cigar tonight. Looking forward to that.. I've always thought they smelled really good and such. Also, Viva La Bam is a great TV show. I was watching Bam and this guy Compton Ass Terry jumping around to rap music, it was hilarious. ^^

I hate how I can learn something for a test in my Japanese class.. and then a few weeks later I've completely forgotten it. It makes me feel quite useless. How am I ever going to learn this language? I can't even remember the stuff I already know.

Still sick. '_' I don't have a fever anymore, but I've one hell of a cold. I already skipped school monday for it.. I'm afraid I might be inclined to skip wednesday as well, but I really don't wanna fall behind, and my dad would probably get pissed at me. He doesn't like me to stay home unless I'm on my deathbed.

I spent practically my entire four-day weekend on Diablo II, for lack of being able to do anything else. My pally is now level 84, and around rung 23 on the hardcore paladin ladder.

Let's see-- oh! If anyone reading this is good at finding MP3's.. I need a little help. I really want the opening and ending themes from the Japanese TV show 'Odoru Daisosasen' (a.k.a. Bayside Shakedown, a.k.a. Rhythm and Police). The opening theme is just the title of the show, I believe.. and no, I don't want the DDR version. :) The ending theme is called 'Love Somebody', by Yuji Oda. I'll be your best friend forever if you can help me out on this. I've tried KaZaA and Google, and I can't track the damn things down.
